Little Lambs Episcopal Preschool
Our primary goal at Little Lambs Episcopal Preschool is to provide a Christian environment for young children where they can develop mentally, physically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally. By ensuring small student-teacher ratios, we are better able to know your child and to nurture his/her unique talents and abilities, as well as work with them on an individual basis in those areas where they might require more encouragement.
The Christian Wee Learn is the foundation of our curriculum with a variety of other curricula and materials used to enhance and amplify the learning. The Tennessee Early Learning Developmental Standards is used as a guideline for the development of lessons and as a monitoring tool in assessing the progress of each student.
Classes meet on Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday /Thursday for two and three year olds. The Pre-K class meets on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Our hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Children begin the day with a short chapel experience with stories, songs, and a prayer in the Atrium and will then adjourn to their respective classes. Their day will consist of group times for instruction, stories, and singing; center time for play and exploration; individual time with the teacher to work on art and craft activities and for reinforcement of appropriate academic material; music class once a week; snack and lunch time and outdoor activities on the playground or for nature walks.
Belinda Bain, Preschool Director
Belinda Bain is the Director of Little Lambs Preschool and has worked at Little Lambs in various capacities for over four years. Belinda has a B.S. in Nutrition & Food Sciences from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN.
Belinda grew up in a Christian home in Brentwood where she attended both Catholic and Methodist churches. In her teens, her church home became Johnson’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
Belinda and her husband, Keith, have three children and one grandchild. They live in the Franklin area. In their spare time, Belinda’s family loves outdoor activities including fishing and camping. They also enjoy exploring historic downtown Franklin.
Belinda believes that children thrive in a loving, positive, Christian environment where they are able to express themselves in all activities throughout the day. She also understands that every child is an individual and needs to be nurtured in his very own way to reach his fullest potential.
